MIXED MEDIA SCULPTURE

Blending traditionally feminine crafts like sewing and quilting with industrial techniques such as welding and soldering, King creates forms that are both delicate and bold. Her process often begins with gestural drawings in space—using steel rods or wire, which she welds, twists, and shapes into dynamic structures. These are then layered with translucent fabric, resulting in ethereal sculptures that evoke floating nebulae, organic growth, or subconscious figures suspended in space or floating on walls. (Click on image to enlarge and view specs).
